The qualification is achieved following successful completion of all 14 modular components, each of which has either practical assessment units and/or multiple choice theory assessment units. The modular components cover the significant aspects of electrical installations practices associated with domestic premises and when completed will satisfy the competency requirements of the Government Approved Competent Persons Schemes.
Connaught provide access to this qualification following a 5 day training period, during which intensive practical and theory sessions are combined to ensure maximum knowledge retention by the learner, whilst requiring the time away from the workplace to be kept to a minimum. There are two evening sessions, on Wednesday and Thursday, during which candidates carry out their practical assesments.
All equipment needed to undertake the qualification is provided at the training centre with full opportunity to get 'hands on' experience using modern tools and test equipment on simulated domestic installations.
Although no prior electrical qualification is required for this course, learners should have basic literacy skills and be aware of normal electrical safety responsibilities.
