17th Edition Training Courses
In January 2008 the 16th Edition Wiring Regulations were superseded by the BS7671:2008 17th Edition. Connaught Electrical Training offer the new 17th Edition City & Guilds 2382-10 qualification. For those who require a refresher from the 16th Edition we also offer the City & Guilds 2382-20 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) update qualification. The revised standard is necessary to ensure that the document remains technically aligned to European Harmonisation Documents. Changes in the new regulations include:
- Requirements for Earthing and Bonding within Bathrooms to be radically changed.
- Additional training procedures to be introduced and permitted test values altered.
- Protection requirements for cables buried within the fabric of the building to alter significantly.
- Requirements for shock protection of socket outlets to change.
- As well as being renumbered, many definitions will alter and new terminology introduced.

There are two options available to students; an update course for individuals who have successfully completed a 16th Edition qualification or similar within the last 5 years or the full qualification for those who fall outside those parameters.
